2 people from New York arrested in Knoxville for aggravated robbery

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two people were arrested after they led law enforcement on a chase on February 11 in a stolen vehicle.

 Alexis Burgos and Sunnia Carberry were both arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. Both have addresses listed in Bronx, New York.


According to reports, Burgos and Carberry were inside Wendy's on Strawberry Plains Pike. They approached a people eating and grabbed the keys to their Kia Sorento off the table. They fled the restaurant with the victims chasing them. The victims encountered Burgos and Carberry as they were unlocking the Kia. 

Burgos pulled out a knife and made a stabbing motion towards one of the victims as they tried to stop them from taking the car, which caused a minor cut on the ribs one of the victims. The victims backed away from Burgos and Carberry.

Burgos and Carberry took off in the car. After a brief vehicle pursuit, THP took the suspects into custody.

Burgos and Carberry were booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility Friday, March 10.
