VAN BUREN COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) - The inn at Fall Creek Fall State Park in Van Buren County will close on April 2, 2018 for a rebuilding and renovation project.
The $25 million project will include the construction of a new, 85-room inn, restaurant and conference center. The initiative is part of an overall reinvestment in the park, that includes the cabins, pool, visitor center, village green, nature center, golf course and a sewer upgrade.
The project is slated to take 18-24 months.
There are 31 full-time positions that may be impacted by the closure. Benefits for full-time staff will include a severance package consisting of a one-time lump sum payment of $3,200; college tuition assistance for two years at any state-funded college, university or technical school; potential state unemployment benefits; and inclusion on the state’s Reduction in Force list for one year.
On top of the 31 full-time positions, there are 27 part-time positions potentially impacted. Part-time staff would receive a one-time lump sum payment of $1,000, college tuition assistance for one year and potential state unemployment benefits.
