KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Holston Middle School reached a major milestone. The school is celebrating 60 years.
To mark the occasion, the school installed a new gym with brand new logos.
Also, the school was given a big check from Modern Woodsmen of America.
Knox County Commissioner Bob Thomas was there for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
He says it's exciting to see the school continue to grow.
"It's great to see such a beautiful facility where the kids are going to be able to enjoy this," said Knox County Commissioner Bob Thomas. "Athletics are a pretty big part of growing up and also for the people who come to watch it. It's just really great to see."
Thomas attended Holston Middle School as a child.
