ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Authorities are investigating after a badly decomposed body was found in Hawkins County in November.
A hunter found the remains near East Pumpkin Valley Road, according to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's officials were able to identify the body as Callie Mahayla Ison, 26, of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
The cause of Ison's death was ruled a homicide and an investigation is underway.
The sheriff says a person of interest has been identified in the woman's death, which appears to be an isolated incident.
