BOONES CREEK, Tenn. (WJHL) - Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal revealed in a news conference his office is investigating a triple homicide after the bodies of a couple were found in a mobile home.
The sheriff identified the couple as Kyanna Howes Vaughn, 23, and Robert Aaron Vaughn, 25.
The parents were found dead in their bedroom with what the sheriff said were gunshot wounds.
According to the sheriff, Kyanna Vaughn was six to seven months pregnant.
“We are clearly dealing with a triple homicide due to the baby,” Sheriff Graybeal said.
The mobile home is located in Oak Grove Village in Boones Creek.
Sheriff Graybeal said family friends went to check on them after they were unable to reach them by phone. Friends found the couple dead. Sheriff Graybeal said the couple’s 3-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy were inside the home at the time and both were unharmed.
The sheriff said that no motive has been determined at this time.
The TBI has also been called in to investigate.
“We’re receiving a lot of calls this morning. So we’re following up on all those leads,” Graybeal said.
The bodies are currently at the medical examiner’s office for autopsies.
Jenilee Christie lives in the same neighborhood. She said she hopes to see justice for he family.
“Hopefully the person that done it, they’ll find and justice needs to be taken care of over this,” Christie said.
The two children are in custody of the Department of Children’s Services.
