KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office made many arrests during the holiday season.
The department's Organized Retail Crime Unit Task Force arrested a total of 433 people on various charges ranging from shoplifting to drug charges. Fifty-seven of those were juveniles, four were fugitives from justice and two were charged with DUI.
Officers also recovered more than $96,000 in stolen property, along with four stolen vehicles and $9,640 in cash. Drugs found included meth, heroin, cocaine and marijuana. Two guns were confiscated.
Businesses and their loss prevention departments have been partnering with KCSO for the last six years.
