Oak Ridge sees increase in reports of sick wildlife

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WATE) - Oak Ridge residents are being asked to contact police after multiple reports of animals in distress.

The Oak Ridge Animal Shelter says residents should contact the police department if they see potentially sick wildlife.

Raccoons, foxes and other wildlife may be suffering from distemper.

If you see an animal, do not try to capture or transport it. This will prevent the spread of disease or infection to human from animal.

Reports can be made to the police department's non-emergency number at 865-425-4399.
