Principal: Central High School student arrested for alleged social media threat

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - A Central High School student was arrested Friday night for allegedly making a threat on social media, according to a message the school's principal sent to parents.

The message from Principal Michael Reynolds said the threat was reported around 4:30 p.m. Administrators immediately notified school security and law enforcement.

The student was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m., according to Reynolds' message.
