LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. (WATE) - A man is behind bars accused of shooting his girlfriend's sister in the arm on Tuesday in LaFollette.
LaFollette police say just before 7 p.m. the victim pulled into the parking lot of LaFollette Police Department and told an officer he or she had been shot while inside the vehicle. Officers administered first aid and the victim was taken to UT Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Police said the suspect, Kenneth Wayne Walden shot the victim, then sped away.
Later in the evening, a Campbell County deputy saw Walden's vehicle and turned around to give chase. At that point, Walden sped up, lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.
Walden was taken to LaFollette Medical Center for treatment. After he was released, he was booked into the Campbell County Jail on attempted murder, aggravated assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, retaliation, stalking, aggravated assault by domestic violence and vandalism.
