Suspect arrested less than an hour after Harriman pharmacy robbery

HARRIMAN, Tenn. (WATE) - Police in Harriman arrested an armed robbery suspect less than an hour after the alleged crime, according to a release from the department.

William Folger, 31, originally from Kentucky, is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Harriman Police Department says it was called to CVS, 1136 South Roane Street, around 12:38 p.m. Tuesday where witnesses said the suspect came into the store and walked to the pharmacy. He handed over a note demanding a large amount of oxycodone and pulled out a gun. The pharmacist complied with his demands.

When officers arrived, an investigator quickly went to work, watching surveillance video and broadcasting the suspect description to other police units. A man matching the description drove past Roane County Sheriff's Office investigators on Highway 70 in the Midtown area. He was arrested without incident.

Officers say they found evidence of the robbery in and around the vehicle.

On Thursday, officers found 636 pills of the stolen drug at his home. The estimated street value is $19,110.
