Knoxville nurse charged with murder in motel shooting

WATE 6 On Your Side Staff - KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville nurse has been arrested and charged with shooting a man to death last weekend at a Knoxville motel.

Danielle Wright, 28, is charged with first degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond. She turned herself in at the Knox County Jail on Friday. Officials say until recently she worked as a nurse at UT Medical Center.

Police have accused her of shooting Purnell Nimmons, 33, to death at Lakeview Motel, 6133 Chapman Highway, on April 3. Police say they have characterized the shooting as domestic.
