Flyover honors fallen Blue Angels pilot in Pensacola

WKRN staff - PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRN) – A flyover was performed Tuesday to honor the Blue Angels pilot who died when his jet crashed last week in Smyrna.

The performance took place as the team transported the body of Captain Jeff Kuss to their home base at the Naval Air Station Pensacola for a memorial service on June 9.

Kuss' body has been Dover, Delaware, since the crash last Thursday.

Blue Angels Lead Solo Lt. Ryan Chamberlain flew Fat Albert in the flyover of Palafox St. in downtown Pensacola, from North to South, then over Pensacola Beach, from East to West, and lastly, over Perdido Key, before landing at Forrest Sherman Field, home of the Blue Angels.
