Friends react after 3 charged with woman's murder

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Three people were indicted after a body was found in Hawkins County.

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office says a body was found on Nov. 24. by a deer hunter

The female victim, 26-year-old Callie Mahayla "Mia" Ison, was shot multiple times, according to the report.

"You never think that is the last moment that you're gonna say 'i love you' 'i miss you' 'come see me again' you never know the last time you're gonna see the person that you love." said Jennifer Smith, Ison's close friend.

Smith says she met Ison 6 years ago when Ison was dating her brother. She said quickly Ison, and both of her children, became part of their family.

"She could always make you laugh. She was always happy and it made you feel happy just to be around her." said Smith.

But a year ago, things started to change. Ison began seeing someone new that none of Ison's close friends knew very well, according to Smith.

"I'd seen her about 8 months ago and that was the very last time that I'd seen her. I knew then that she was drifting a part, she had this new guy..." said Smith.

In October 2017, Kayla Jessee, another friend of Ison's -- Smith's niece -- said she stopped hearing from Ison all together. Now, she knows why.

"I would message her and the last time I messaged her, I thought it was weird that she didn't message me back which I thought was weird because we would talk everyday." said Jessee.

Charles Timothy Gray, William Cody Mullins and Augusta Dawn Hall were indicted on charges for first-degree murder. The bond was set at $1,000,000 each.

Gray is being held in Louisville, Kentucky, and Hall is being held in Georgia. Both men will be brought back to Hawkins County.

Ison's friends say they never knew her to live in Tennessee. They don't know how she met Gray, listed as being from Kentucky, nor do they know what she was doing in Hawkins County.
