FORECAST: Another record breaker possible Wednesday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Be sure to follow the WATE 6 On Your Side Storm Team for the latest updates:

More record warmth possible the next few days, but some rain chances will also return.

Tonight:  Clouds increase a bit with a few stray, light showers possible overnight, but it will remain mild. Low: 60°.

Wednesday: Variably cloudy, breezy and warm again with another record high possible, but spotty showers/thunder will be possible through the day (30%). High: 77° (Record: 76° in 1922).

Thursday: Staying warm with a record high possible once again, but there will be more clouds and a slightly better coverage of showers/thunder (40%). High: 76° (Record 76° in 1980).

The early taste of spring looks as though it will stick around the rest of the work week.

We will see clouds increase a bit overnight and a few spotty, light rain showers will try to break out overnight, but the coverage shouldn't be that great.

Clouds will battle with the sun on Wednesday, but the brisk southwesterly winds will continue. This means once again we could be flirting with a record high by the afternoon. The one thing that would prevent it would be some spotty showers/thunder that will try to randomly develop across the region, especially in the afternoon/evening.

We will see more clouds and a slightly better opportunity for random showers/thunder Thursday, but it still doesn't appear as though everyone will see them. Thursday will give us another opportunity at a record high which is 76° set back in 1980.

Friday looks to be the one day the rest of this week where rain chances look very low and temperatures remain mild in the low-mid 70s, because rain chances creep ack up Saturday afternoon and are looking likely for Sunday as of now along with a fairly gusty wind before a cold front sweeps through.
