KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - After a loss to South Carolina, the University of Tennessee prepares for its game against No. 1 Alabama.
The Vols loss to the Gamecocks Saturday 15-9.
Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano led the Vols down the field with less than two minutes to go in the game, but Tennessee failed to punch the ball in from the two-yard line. Guarantano’s last-second pass fell incomplete as time expired.
Head Coach Butch Jones said Monday, "There's no mystery, we're missing big plays."
He said he likes Guarantano's overall command presence against South Carolina and saw players feed off his energy.
Alabama is undefeated. Jones said the Crimson Tide will "probably be the most complete team I've seen in a number of years."
He went on to say that the game means a lot for many people due to the rivalry.
Aaron Medley will be out for an extended amount of time dealing with an illness. Evan Berry will be back in practice this week but Jones is not sure if he will be ready for Saturday.
Darrell Taylor will continue his suspension this week.
Saturday's game will be in Tuscaloosa at 3:30 p.m.
