Kelly FarrOur October teacher of the month is a 5th grade teacher at Mount Olive Elementary, Kelly Farr.
Mr. Farr received several nominations from parents and staff of Mount Olive.
Besides being deemed a great teacher, being known for making science fun, heading up Safety Patrol, and doing magic tricks, Mr. Farr saved a student's life this year. A boy was choking on a hamburger and fell over in the floor in the cafeteria, not breathing and turning purple.
Children screamed and Mr. Farr jumped up, lifted the child and did the Heimlich maneuver until the child was free of the hamburger.
Mr. Farr handled this terrifying moment with grace, quick thinking and a calmness that eased the minds of the other teachers and children.
Mr. Farr is a great asset to the Mount Olive school family and is a real life Hero.
