Collision with garbage truck in Morristown sends two to hospital

MORRISTOWN (WATE) -- Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Monday on West Andrew Johnson Highway in Morristown.

Brian Lamb, 26, was heading east in his pickup truck when it ran into the back of a City of Morristown garbage truck near the Vifan manufacturing plant.

A worker picking up garbage was almost hit when Lamb's the truck collided with the garbage truck.

Lamb's truck then spun around and hit another truck, driven by William McFadden.

Lamb was flown to UT Medical Center by Lifestar helicopter.

McFadden was treated at Morristown Hamblen Hospital for his injuries.

Two children, ages 3 and 6, were riding with McFadden, but they were properly restrained and weren't injured.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, charges are pending against Lamb. He was driving on a suspended drivers license.
