MORGANTOWN (AP) -- A West Virginia University law school graduate and his wife have donated $1 million for Mountaineers men's basketball scholarships.
WVU athletic director Ed Pastilong announced the gift from Herbert and Rita Sanger of Knoxville, Tenn., on Tuesday. The gift as made through the private, nonprofit WVU Foundation.
Herbert Sanger, a native of Oak Hill, W.Va., graduated from WVU's College of Law in 1961 and taught there in 1977 and 1978. He is a partner in a Knoxville law firm.
