Our November teacher of the month is a CDC teacher at Cherokee Middle School, Tracey Rone.
Members of the Cherokee cafeteria staff nominated Mrs. Rone. They said:
We work in the CMS cafeteria, so we see Mrs. Rone and her students everyday. Her students are special needs kids.
We see her take so much time and patience with these kids. She is a wonderful teacher. She takes her time in helping each child choose their food, making sure they get their veggies (even when they don't want to).
There are several days when Mrs. Rone gets no lunch because this takes so much time.
Sometimes the children refuse to eat, so she sits and feeds them trying to encourage them to eat.
She takes special interest in all of the kids. She not only takes time to teach the kids, but takes time to have fun with them.
It is very clear that the kids adore her.
I have talked to her away from school, and you can tell she considers them to be "her kids."
recently saw one of Mrs. Rone's students who had gone on to high school. She told me to tell Mrs. Rone she loved her.
Mrs. Rone is truly a special woman working with special children!
