SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - The owner of a chain of Smoky Mountains hotels is scheduled to face trial on sexual battery charges after a hearing was held on Tuesday in Sevier County.
The Sevier County Clerk's Office says Ken Seaton, 73, appeared at a status hearing Tuesday in Sevier County Circuit Court. He is scheduled for a trial beginning March 2, 2011.
Seaton is accused of the sexual battery of five female employees who worked for his business, KMS Enterprises.
A man who said he was Seaton's relative told Judge Rex Ogle that Seaton hired attorney T. Scott Jones to defend him.
Jones said he would file a court document identifying himself as Seaton's lawyer when he received full payment from Seaton.
Among the hotels Seaton owns are the Family Inns chain. He also heads a group called Christian Ministries, Inc.
