LaFollette firefighter killed in single car crash

LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - A LaFollette firefighter died Thursday night after crashing his car into a utility pole.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol report says Larry Jarrett, 40, was driving eastbound on Old Middlesboro Highway just before 7:00 p.m. when his car went off the road. 

Jarrett then struck a power pole, snapping it in half, and a portion of the pole wound up sticking into his car.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The cause of the accident is unknown. No other details were released in the report.

Jarrett leaves behind his wife, LaFollette police Officer Pam Jarrett.
