Endangered child from Virginia found safe in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A girl from Chantilly, Virginia, was found safe in Knoxville Friday night hours after an Endangered Child Alert had been issued.

Jennifer Sanford, 14, had been missing since she was last seen on December 2 when she left her home to go to school.

Loudoun County, Virginia, authorities issued the alert Friday afternoon. In issuing the alert investigators said they thought Sanford could be in Knoxville after receiving reports she had been seen with Nicky Liu, 20, in the Knoxville area some time during the past few weeks.

Knoxville police say the investigation is ongoing. Juvenile investigators are conducting interviews.
