3 charged in Grainger County meth lab bust

WASHBURN (WATE) - Two men and a woman are facing charges after Grainger County deputies say they found a meth lab at a home earlier in March.

Deputies searched the home at 159 Phipps Drive in Washburn on March 16. They say they found a container that apparently contained methamphetamine and a stolen Smith & Wesson .40 pistol.

They seized several inactive components of a meth lab as well as some finished meth.

William C. Stevens, 41, who lives at the home, was arrested and charged with felony possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, promotion to manufacture meth and theft of property under $500.

The Tennessee Department of Children's Services took custody of a child in the home.

Deputies on Tuesday arrested two more suspects accused of involvement with the meth lab.

Matthew Stevens, is charged with theft of property under $500, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, promotion of meth, child abuse and neglect. He also lives at the home.

Melanie Browning is charged with theft of property under $500, promotion of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth and child abuse and neglect.
