RUTLEDGE (WATE) - Four men were arrested in different locations Wednesday as suspects in the April 3 shooting death of a Grainger County man.

The victim, Gregory Martin Johnson, 35, was found at his home, 8491 Cracker's Neck Road, in Washburn.

The sheriff's office says the suspects apparently went there to rob Martin, but there was an altercation and shots were exchanged.

Martin was shot multiple times and two of the suspects were injured.

Officers with the Grainger County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office worked together to make the arrests.

Billy Nicely, of Washburn, was arrested on Leadmine Bend Road during a traffic stop.

Mark Alan Austin and Matthew Arnold, both of Sharps Chapel, were arrested at a residence on Johnson Hollow Road.

Matthew Hankins, of Washburn, was taken into custody on Brogan Lane in Tazewell.

All four are charged with first degree murder and are being held in the Grainger County Jail without bond.
