Officers conduct large drug roundup in Morristown

MORRISTOWN (WATE) - A drug offender roundup by Morristown police netted 29 people Thursday night.

The arrests began around 3:30 in the afternoon and continued into the evening.

"Operation Deadly Dose," as the officers called it, was conducted by members of the Special Response Team, Patrol Division, and Criminal Apprehension Unit of the Morristown Police Department.

It was conducted after indictments on 65 separate counts on a total of 46 people were handed down Monday by the Hamblen County Grand Jury.

Some of those in the indictments were already being held before the arrest operation began. 

Those who weren't captured will be entered into the national crime database.

The charges were related to a wide variety of drug charges, including those related to cocaine, crack cocaine, morphine, oxycodone, Opana, Xanex, and marijuana.

Among those captured or already being held are:

  • Connie C. Wright, 41 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Hollie M. Karcher, 33, - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Steven W. Collins, 37 - sale and delivery of a Schedule VI drug (2 counts)
  • Colin Parker, 31- sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (3 counts)
  • Brandon A. Reece, 27- sale and delivery of Schedule II drugs (2 counts) and a Schedule VI drug
  • Taylor J. Olsen, 23 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • April Bailey, 33 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Georgia M. Cain, 32 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (2 counts)
  • Virginia R. Burgess, 35 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (2 counts)
  • Mitzi M. Bolin, 32 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Jayson Castenada, 28 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (2 counts)
  • Lawrence W. Raines, 33 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Stephanie G. Schaeffer, 45 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic
  • Brandon W. Miller, 22 - sale and delivery of a Schedule II narcotic (2 counts) and a Schedule III drug
