Middle Tennessee train-school bus crash will be drill, not real

LEBANON (AP) - A disaster drill in Middle Tennessee will look like the real thing and drivers need to be aware.

The Music City Star commuter train and a school bus will be parked at the Farmstead Road grade crossing in western Wilson County on Tuesday as though they had collided.

The drill will begin at 10 a.m. CDT and should conclude by noon. People will be acting like they are injured so medical personnel can assess them for treatment as though there had been a real crash.

The exercise is required every two years by the Federal Railroad Administration. It allows officials to gauge their readiness to respond in the event of a genuine transportation disaster. Several emergency response agencies will take part.
