SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A man and woman were arrested in Sevierville Wednesday on meth making charges after police got a report about a child walking alone in a roadway.

A driver called police to report a small boy walking alone on the Parkway near Hicks Drive.

"A child was standing smack dab in the middle of the intersection," said Ben Brown, who witnessed the child in the intersection, "Tires screeching, and a horn blew, and I looked up and this lady in a green outfit ran over and picked up the child and stood still."

Officers found the three-year-old boy and learned he lives on Hicks Drive. They also found an alleged meth lab in a shed next to the home.

"There were some tell-tale signs when the officer was there that got his suspicion raised, and when he asked a few questions he was able to determine it was there," said Bob Stahlke, with the Sevierville Police Department.

Bobby J. Brakebill, Jr., 20, and Sherri D. Brakebill, 37, are charged with manufacturing meth.

Brown feels the handful of drivers who helped the boy should be honored.

"Somehow this community needs to give them a great big Samaritan award," he said. "They were totally awesome, and they even went down and kept the kid occupied at the house while the police did what investigative work they had to do."

Sherri Brakebill is also charged with child endangerment. Her sons, ages 14 and three, were taken into state custody.
