KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man was shot and killed by his brother Saturday night in North Knox County, sheriff's deputies say.

Officers were called to 7108 West Emory Road after an elderly lady said her daughter-in-law overdosed.

A short time later, officers received another call from the same residence stating two brothers were arguing and one brother shot the other.

Steven Stooksbury, 46, was killed in the shooting.

Before officers arrived on scene the alleged shooter, Jerry Stooksbury Jr., 49, and his wife fled next door and were held up in the home with a toddler.

Officers were able to convince Stooksbury to turn himself in.

Stooksbury's wife was transported to UT Medical Center. The toddler received no injuries.

Jerry Stooksbury has been charged with first degree murder and is being held on $350,000 bond.
