ROCKFORD (WATE) - A Blount County woman escaped an overnight house fire.
Officials say the fire started around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at 4710 Old Knoxville Highway in Rockford.
Crews say an older woman living in the house was able to get out safely.
10 trucks with around two dozen firefighters battled the blaze. It was finally under control about 4:00 a.m.
Crews had to truck in water because there was no hydrant nearby.
50% of the home was destroyed in the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
