MORRISTOWN (WATE) - A Hamblen County man has been arrested after a drug bust there was described by police as an elaborate and sophisticated marijuana growing operation.

Steven Haun, 50, of Morristown, is now facing several charges, including a Class C Felony for the crime.

The Morristown City Police Department said officers served a search warrant Wednesday morning at an unoccupied home in the 5700 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway.

Police said they were acting on an anonymous tip concerning suspicious activity going on at the house.

After investigators went into the home, they found "47 high-grade marijuana plants ranging from a few inches to 4 and 5 feet in height," according to a release from the police department.

Detectives also discovered an extensive growing operation that included motorized track lighting and other equipment used to make marijuana.

Investigators estimated the value of the drugs to be about $10,000.

"While the abuse and illegal sale of prescription medication continues to be a high priority for the MPD Narcotics and Vice Unit, we also recognize the importance of addressing the issues of use and sale of all illegal drugs in our community," said Chief Roger Overholt in a statement from the police department. "We will continue to utilize all resources available to investigate and prosecute individuals who are involved in these types of activities."

Haun is being held in the Hamblen County Jail.
