Trolley routes set to change in downtown Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Trolley routes in downtown Knoxville will change on Monday, August 15, but the service will remain free.

The new routes, designed with extensive public input, will now offer service on Saturdays and extend to free parking just north of downtown.

The Vol Line and the Downtown Loop will still shuttle downtown employees from the Civic Coliseum garage to workplaces including TVA, Home Federal Bank and the City County Building.

The Vol Line will also connect downtown to The University of Tennessee.

The Gay Street Line will travel Gay Street from the north parking lot under Interstate 40 to Hill Avenue and the Marriott Hotel.

For more information, a map of the new routes is posted on the Knoxville Area Transit website.
