KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knox County woman is charged with using TennCare to pay for a fake prescription.

Vera Natascha Milligan, 36, is accused of taking a forged prescription to a pharmacy and using TennCare to pay for it.

Milligan faces one count of TennCare fraud, one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and two counts of forgery.

TennCare fraud is a Class E felony carrying a sentence of up to two years in prison.

Obtaining a controlled substance by fraud is a Class D felony that carries two to four years per charge.
