CLINTON (WATE) - A Clinton man was arrested and charged Monday for the shooting that killed a pawnshop employee on November 7.

James Allen Green, 64, is charged with theft over $500 (a class E felony), aggravated assault (a class C felony), felony murder and first degree murder (class A felonies).

He's accused in the death of South Clinton Pawn Shop employee Larry Snellings, 58.

Police say Green was taken into custody after he was released from UT Medical Center.

"This investigation was complex, in the fact that we had no access to our suspect due to his initial medical condition," said Chief Rick Scarbrough.

Green was taken to the Anderson County Detention Facility where he's being held on bonds of $1 million for each charge, for a total of $4 million.

He was arraigned Tuesday morning, and he's due next in court on November 30.
