KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The University of Tennessee says Friday Da'Rick Rogers is still a member of the Vols football team.

Athletic department spokesperson Jimmy Stanton says, "Rogers has not been dismissed or suspended."

This contradicts what sources told 6 Sports earlier Friday, saying the SEC's leading wide receiver had been kicked off the team.

According to a source with knowledge of Friday morning's meeting with players, Rogers came in beforehand with a California, Berkeley sweatshirt.

One of the coaching assistants told Rogers he needed to talk to head coach Derek Dooley before the meeting started.

When Dooley came in for the meeting, Rogers wasn't with him.

Coach Dooley reportedly talked some about the season, then said he wanted to get the news out in the open that "Da'Rick is no longer with us."

Dooley reportedly moved on quickly after the announcement without giving further details.

Rogers, a 6'3" 215-pounder sophomore from Calhoun, Georgia, started all 12 games for the Vols this season.

He led the SEC in receptions this season with 67 and in receiving yards with 1,040.
