KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A section of Hill Avenue in downtown Knoxville will be closed during the holidays due to work at the City County Building.
The closure lasts from December 23 through January 2.
A crew will use a large crane to replace the cooling tower at the building.
The sidewalks along the west half of the building will also be closed, but those on the east and north side of the street will stay open.
The building entrance on Hill Avenue will also stay open, along with the parking garage and the Knox County Sheriff's Office "sally port."
H-S Whitson Construction Company will manage the project for the Public Building Authority.
