Knoxville stabbing suspect arrested after assaulting hospital workers

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A stabbing victim ends up being arrested Wednesday night, after he assaulted medical personnel at UT Medical Center.

Police say it started when the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation at the corner of E. Anderson and Alexander. That's when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

That suspect, Ronnie Turner, 23, was later arrested for outstanding warrants.

The victim called 911 from a home on E. Oklahoma Avenue.

He was taken to UT Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

As he was being treated in the emergency room, he began assaulting medical staff members.  Officers then arrested him, charging him with assault and underage consumption.
