KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It's football time in Tennessee, but not for University of Tennessee football players. The women of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition plus some volunteers went head to head with the Lady Vols rowing team for a powder puff flag football game.

"Being Canadian, I have never actually played football. This was my first so it was different. A lot of running, but we held our own and I think we did well," said Liz Dickson, a sophomore on the women's rowing team.

The male designers were the designated cheerleaders.

"A leader of cheers. I wouldn't say I was a cheerleader because I gave that job to Paulie but I was the leader of cheers," said Johnny Littlefield, a designer with the Extreme build.

Everyone was able to step away from the building side of things and have some fun.

"It's been a super nice break. To get away from the build site and to come down here to Neyland Stadium and be on the field. It's so cool," explained Jillian Harris, another designer with the show.

The game was filmed for the actual TV episode, so crews were on site and there were multiple takes.

"It was different because they staged some of it but it was still exciting and I had a lot of fun with the team," Dickson said.

Since the Knoxville build will air around Thanksgiving, many felt that football was the way to go.

"It's all about Thanksgiving. People think of football, food and giving thanks and gratitude and family, so it all makes sense that we're here," Harris said.

It also made sense that everyone was eating. There was a huge Thanksgiving feast after the game to keep the Thanksgiving theme going.
