ALCOA (WATE) - After two diners and a waitress got into a fight over beer Tuesday in Alcoa, a woman was struck by an SUV and the diners were taken into custody.

Police responded to Fusion Buffet, 2468 Airport Highway, at 4:07 p.m.

Amanda Kay Captain, 32, and Dustin James Hampton, 29, of the same Jackson Avenue address in Maryville, ordered beers at the restaurant.

A waitress named Ching Lau told the pair she needed IDs to serve them beer, according to the police report. The pair got Captain's ID from their gold Nissan Pathfinder, but they didn't have one for Hampton.

Captain was eventually served two beers since it was the buffet's two-for-one time. Hampton allegedly drank one of the beers so Lau took the drinks off the table.

Captain is accused of hitting Lau in the face and head with her fist and taking her to the ground. Several people intervened to break up the fight. The manager called 911.

Leslie J. Dyer, of Louisville, told police she helped break up the fight and locked the door to try to stop Captain and Hampton from leaving.

The pair still made it into their SUV so Dyer said she tried to get the tag number and waved her arm at them. However, Hampton backed up and hit her as they left.

Police found the Pathfinder soon after in a nearby McDonald's parking lot and arrested Captain and Hampton.

Captain is charged with aggravated assault and delivery of Schedule II narcotics. She's being held in the Blount County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Hampton is charged with reckless endangerment with a vehicle, disobeying traffic signals and speeding. He's being held on bonds totaling $11,500.

Lau was treated at Blount Memorial Hospital after complaining of a headache, nausea and dizziness.

Dyer said her arm and leg hurt where she was hit by the Pathfinder, but she declined to be taken to the hospital.
