CRAB ORCHARD (AP) - The town of Crab Orchard in Cumberland County will have a public hearing Friday evening to discuss a proposed private landfill.
The landfill would be at a limestone quarry. A request seeking authority for the landfill was denied by the city in 2009.
The group Statewide Organizing for Community eMpowerment has opposed a landfill in the town for several years, citing safety and environmental reasons.
