BEAN STATION (WATE) - A second man has been arrested and charged in the May 2010 slaying of a Bean Station man.

Jimmy Wayne Atkins, 42, of Bean Station, is charged with first degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Thomas William Russell, Jr. 30.

James Edward Campbell, 33, also of Bean Station, was already charged in connection to Russell's shooting.

Campbell was arrested in May 2010, a few days after Russell's body was found in his home. Investigators said Russell had been dead for some time.

The Grainger County Grand Jury indicted Atkins earlier in January on one count of first degree murder, one count of especially aggravated kidnapping and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

He was arrested on January 20.

Campbell was also indicted in January on the same charges. He was free on bond, but officers  rearrested him on January 13.
