KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man's fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon in the Halls community is under investigation.
The incident was reported at 4:41 p.m. at a home on McFall Road, off Browns Gap Road. When Knox County sheriff's officers arrived, they found Michael Parton, 26, dead inside the home.
Other people were in the home at the time of the shooting, but investigators say it's unclear whether they were involved.
"Detectives are conducting a crime scene investigation at this time," said Chief Deputy Eddie Biggs. "We're going to go by it piece by piece to determine what has occurred and follow-up on the investigation."
An autopsy on Parton's body was completed, but the results have not been released. No arrests have been made.
