MADISONVILLE (WATE) - Assault charges have been filed against two former Monroe County sheriff's deputies accused of abusing an inmate.
The charges against John Wilburn and Thomas Goodman follow a review by District Attorney General Steve Bebb on the incident at the Monroe County Jail on January 17.
The men resigned over allegations of inmate abuse and an investigation by officials.
Both men were booked Wednesday at the Monroe County Jail and released on $1,000 bonds.
