KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County's Risk Management and Human Resources department will soon be under the same department head.
The announcement was made Thursday that Risk Management Director Mark Jones will head the newly structured department.
The change will take effect on February 13th after the retirement of current Human Resources Director Frances Fogerson. Deputy Veteran Services Officer Col. Richard Julian will become Human Resource Manager.
Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said "Combining these two departments just makes sense, and now is the right time to do it. Making these changes will increase efficiency in the way we do business by bringing two very closely-related departments together."
