KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Sunday morning 6 News was caught up in the Super Bowl frenzy as fans and businesses prepared for the big day.
Liz Stephens is hoping to celebrate a Giants victory at her Super Bowl party.
"It's cheaper and you can kind of control the amount of alcohol. You know if someone has had too much they can stay at your house," said Stephens.
Patriots fan Josh Martin and his friend Chris Allen made sure they got the best seats in the house at Latitude 35 in Market Square.
They sat down around 10 a.m. waiting for the big game.
"They start serving alcohol at 10," said Martin.
Allen said he flew all the way from Boston to see the game with his friend.
"Sales have been up. Weather determines Market Square and weather overshadowed the economy this year. It's been a great January," said manager Ken Stroecker of Latitude 35.
Sunday is promising to be a great start for February for Latitude 35 and other businesses.
For Super Bowl last year Pizza Palace sold hundreds of pizzas and they are ready for this year's rush.
"Having 50 years under your belt helps a lot, what keeps people coming back is the quality and value that we provide," said Pizza Palace owner Charlie Peroulas.
It doesn't hurt when your restaurant on East Magnolia Avenue has been featured on the Food Network.
"We definitely get a lot of traffic from out of town but it's our local customers that get us going," said Peroulas.
Peroulas is hoping for a touchdown for his business on Super Bowl Sunday.
