KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Convicted sex offender Gregory L. Cramer, 60, was arrested Monday when Knox County sheriff's officers did a compliance check for the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry.
Cramer is registered as homeless in Knox County. The sheriff's office says Cramer had been staying in his car on the property of a local truck stop.
Officers found him within 1,000 feet of World's Fair Park. Cramer admitted he'd been coming to the area several times a week for approximately one month, and had been in the area for at least two hours on Monday.
Cramer is a registered sex offender with convictions in Seymour, Indiana for child molestation with three victims and in Bellefontaine, Ohio for sexual imposition with two victims.
He had a previous violation of the rules regarding the sex offender registry in 2011 in Harriman. Police charged him with failing to register after moving to Tennessee.
If you have information regarding a sex offender, please submit it to crimetips@knoxsheriff.org or call 865-215-2243.
