WALLAND (WATE) - A Maryville man is in custody in Michigan in connection to a Walland man's homicide last Friday, February 10.
The sheriff's office says the suspect is Clinton Garrett Walton, 30, of Enterprise Way in Maryville.
Walton is being held at the Wayne County Detention Facility in Detroit. He was stopped by the Canadian Royal Mounted Police and U.S. Border Patrol agents early Saturday morning as he tried to cross into Canada.
The victim, Brian David Fann, 37, of Blair Loop Road in Walland, was found dead in his home the afternoon of February 10.
Walton is being held on two warrants out of Blount County for auto theft, as well as for the investigation of the Fann homicide.
The sheriff's office is continuing to follow-up leads in the case.
