KYLES FORD (WATE) - The state Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Thursday about plans to repair Kyles Ford bridge, which is located on Highway 70 in Hancock County.
In November, TDOT announced the bridge would be shut down for repairs.
However, closing the bridge would have meant a 90-minute detour for some drivers.
After people voiced their concerns, TDOT decided to build a new bridge and the old Kyles Ford bridge will remain open during construction.
The public meeting on Thursday is being held to give people a chance to see and comment on the repair plans and detour option.
The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hancock County Courthouse on Main Street in Sneedville.
