KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County deputies say they arrested a violent sex offender Friday night after he was on a local school's property.

They arrested Jeffrey Keith, 41, around 7:00pm at his Country Walk Drive home in Powell.

Deputies say he was on the property of a local high school around 4:00pm on Friday without a legitimate reason for being there.  Keith was also charged for operating a gymnastics business without notifying the Knox County Sheriff's Office Sex Offenders Enforcement Unit.  Each bond is set at $10,000.

Keith was originally convicted in 1998 in Rhea County, Tennessee of Criminal Attempt/Aggravated Sexual Battery against a 10-year-old female. The victim was a gymnastics student of Keith's at the time of the charge.
