KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A pedestrian was hit and killed by a semi-truck Tuesday morning at the driveway of a West Knoxville business.
Officers responded to ASG – Ameri-Lam Supply Group, 900 Dutch Valley Drive, at 7:39 a.m. They found Tom Kerley, 46, of Knoxville, lying in the driveway.
Kerley was dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the truck was backing down the driveway to the warehouse when Kerley was hit.
The truck driver, Jimmy Spires, 50, of St. Matthews, South Carolina, was contracted through Cheetah Transport in Wisconsin.
An autopsy will be performed to determine Kerley's cause of death.
Police say there's no evidence of foul play, and the death appears to be accidental.
The incident was at ASG – Ameri-Lam Supply Group.
