Gatlinburg to be awash in Santas for ClausFest

GATLINBURG (AP) - So, where does Santa Claus go in his offseason? Gatlinburg, obviously.

What is billed as the largest Santa Claus festival in the Southeast takes place starting this weekend in the Smoky Mountains city.

Much of ClausFest 2012 isn't open to the public. Maybe that has something to do with that "naughty or nice list," but the downtown parade is Saturday afternoon.

About 300 Santas, Mrs. Clauses and elves are expected to attend.

The public can attend the Santa fashion show on March 20 at the Convention Center.
